Time Flies...

Updated: Jan 2, 2023

Either run the day or the day runs you.

— Jim Rohn

We all have the same 24 hours in the day but what we do with them makes all the difference. Have you ever heard the saying that not all hours are created equally?

First, what do you feel you are missing in your life? What do you feel that you do not have time for?

Maybe it’s as simple as being aware of where you spend you time. Think about when you go shopping. If you are going to go to the store, it’s best to do it when the stores are not as crowded so that you will not be waiting on as many lines and will be able to maximize your time. Going shopping during off hours can help you get in and out of the stores quickly.

Get to know yourself and you bio rhythms. If you notice that you have more energy in the morning, then plan your more taxing chores during the earliest part of the day.

There are quite a few apps that can help you with time management, productivity, daily planning, habit tracking, goal tracking, etc. They are worth looking through and seeing which ones might fit you and your needs.

OK, this next one may sound a little funny. When my kids were younger, I used to “speed clean.“ I used to set a timer for a certain period of time - 20 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour - and within that time I would see how much I could get accomplished in a particular room. I used to ‘race’ myself. At the end of my blocked time, I used to be so excited about how much I got accomplished but often I’d keep going.

So, what were those things that you want to make time for?? Do you think it’s time that you do them?? How can you make some time in your schedule to get started??
